So I've created a list of things that I am going to work on to make my ecological footprint smaller.
- Ride my bike instead of taking the bus or driving a car
- Take shorter showers
- Buy energy efficient light bulbs
- Now that I'm 18, I can vote for candidates that will make sustainability one of their priorities
- Eat less meat
- Eat foods with less packaging to reduce waste
- Replace items only when they need to be replaced
Wow, five earths, that's a lot. Imagine how many earths it would take if everyone lived the lifestyle of the average person. I wonder what my ecological footprint would be if I took this quiz. Anyways, think it's great that you're making a list to make your footprint smaller. The list looks pretty good and other things that you could add is always turn the faucet off when you're not using it, buying energy star products, and carpooling when it's necessary to drive. And, there's also so many other ways in which you can conserve energy. Good luck with working on your list!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome list. Its really great you're at UNC, UNC is incredibly green and there are plenty of groups that you can join to better the environment or to get other tips on how to be more green. Personally, I've been trying to use less water in the shower by taking faster ones and turing off the water to shampoo and stuff- but lets be honest, I love my showers and I love hot water and I hate being cold. I'm trying, but I'm so failing. Good luck with your list, hope you do better than myself- with the showers at least!
